Presented By Professor Michael Myers
  • 10.30am - 3.30pm

About this event

Registration for our second IS/IM mid-career workshop 'The use of theory and theorising for 4* journal articles' led by Visiting Professor and member of CIM, Professor Michael Myers, is now open. Professor Myers will be leading the workshop on getting published in IS and IM publications. This is not a free event, and spaces are very limited, so please book your seat early.

The workshop will take place on 28 October, 10.30am - 3.30pm at the School of Business and Economics, 91桃色视频.

Overview

In this workshop Michael will discuss the challenges of getting published in the top academic journals. Since most top journals in information systems (and many other fields) require a good contribution to theory, Michael will focus mostly on the use of theory in academic papers. He will provide examples of papers published in MIS Quarterly, focusing particularly on how they made a theoretical contribution. He will also discuss the nature of scientific research, theory and theorising.

Note: Once you have registered for the workshop (see below), you will be provided with a link for the pre-workshop reading.

If you have any questions, comments or suggestions that you wish to raise with us prior to the workshop, please do so: Dr Crispin Coombs on C.R.Coombs@lboro.ac.uk.
