The multi-sport event is designed to offer young athletes an educational experience around participating in a major sporting competition. This year will see the return of spectators at the event; staff will be able to purchase tickets to all outdoor events and indoor events (BMX, cycling and triathlon events are free to attend).
Staff can access discounted tickets for the following School Games events:

- Cricket (campus)
- Track & Road Cycling (Derby)
- BMX (Alvaston)
to purchase tickets using the code FREESGNF2024.
During this period, University staff should be aware of disruptions and closures on campus.
Car park closures
- Friday 23 August – Monday 2 September: Car Park 5
- Saturday 24 August – Sunday 1 September: Car Park 20
- Sunday 25 August – Sunday 1 September (Pool Car Park, crossing onwards), then fully closed on Tuesday 27 August and Sunday 1 September
- Monday 26 August – Sunday 1 September: Car Park 12
- Monday 26 August – Monday 2 September: Haslegrave Car Park (left of entrance), Netball & Badminton Centre, EAC/Hockey Car Park

Road closures
Thursday 29 August:
- 4pm - Union Way and Rutland Way
- 6pm - University Road (Ball Park to Margaret Keay Road)
- 4pm-7pm - Managed access/exit between Union Way and Rutland Way
- Approximately 9.30pm - Roads re-open
Friday 30 August:
- 9am-6pm - East Link Road along Towers Way to University Road
Saturday 31 August:
- 30pm-9pm - East Park security barrier, junction of Margaret Keay Road and University Road, junction of Towers Way, East Link Road at the junction adjacent to Car Park 9 entrance and entrance onto campus at the back of James France (Car Park 20)
- Closure of associated roads joining the above – Union Way and Rutland Way
Please note there will be windows during the road closure period when vehicles will be able to exit the circuit. This will be under the direction of event control during the closure period.
Sunday 1 September:
- 6am-12.15pm - Holywell Way
- One way system in place to University Road
- Oakwood Drive will be closed but can be accessed by managed access under the direction of stewards
- Exit from Burleigh Court and Holywell Fitness Gym will follow diversions off campus

- Tuesday 27 August - Rugby closure in place from East Link Road along Towers Way to University Road due to Games set up
- Thursday 29 August - One-way system in place throughout the day to assist arrivals
- Friday 30 August - Rugby closure in place from East Link Road along Towers Way to University Road
- Saturday 31 August - Rugby closure in place from East Link Road along Towers Way to University Road
- Sunday 1 September - Rugby closure in place from East Link Road along Towers Way to University Road until 12pm when it becomes a one-way system to assist departures
Please be aware that there will be a PA system in use for commentary and presentations throughout the period the Games are on, which will be present at many of the sport facilities and may produce noise.
