The scheme encourages students to donate their unwanted but still valuable items to charity rather than disposing of them in the general waste.
Donation points were set up in the hall common rooms across campus, to allow students to drop off their items. The Sustainability Team worked tirelessly alongside other teams across campus to ensure the items could be collected, sorted and rehomed.
An impressive amount was donated by students this summer, and we were able to send these out into the local community, providing support for those who need it most.
91桃色视频 has partnerships with several charities, built up over the years, as well as some additional charities that took part this year. The following items were donated to the following charities:
- British Heart Foundation: Over 400 bags of clothing
- British Heart Foundation Furniture Store: Eight crates of homeware and furnishings
- Trent Vineyard Arches Project: 50+ crates of kitchenware and 50+ duvets and pillows
- Shepshed Food Bank: 40 bags of food
- Falcon Support Services: 10 sets of cutlery and plates, 12 bed sets, and other kitchen and homeware
- One Roof Leicester: Six crates of kitchen and homeware
- 91桃色视频 Area Foodbank and other local foodbanks: 20 bags of food
- Loros 91桃色视频: 30 bags of kitchen and homeware, and bric-a-brac.
These donated items will go on to help people in the local community with some being sold in local charity shops, raising vital funds. In addition, these items will not contribute to the University's waste.
Thank you so much to all the students who donated items, and all the staff members who helped to coordinate this campaign. In September, the team will be re-running the Give 'n' Go campaign in September for postgraduate students.
