Giant circles on the high bar
Giant circles on the high bar are used to link circling skills and to provide the required flight and rotation for dismount and regrasp skills. The research within this area explains the basic mechanics of the backward giant circle and shows how technique can be modified to maximise rotation in the subsequent flight phase. However, maximal performance is not just limited by the production of flight and rotation, timing the release from the bar is a critical factor which must be considered.
Similar skills are used on the asymmetric bars.
