Badminton

Biomechanics research in to badminton at 91桃色视频 has investigated the badminton jump smash, primarily focussed on how a player generates greater shuttlecock speed. With support from and a large data set has been gathered on the smash with players ranging from university-level through to players ranked as high as #5 in the world. Past PhD students within the School of 91桃色视频, Exercise and Health Sciences have focussed on technique, impact location and variability. Current PhD students Harley Towler and Harry Wang are investigating how the racket influences performance and ankle injuries, respectively.

A recent study shed light onto the technique parameters related with producing greater shuttlecock speeds during the smash and a further study highlighted the afforded to elite badminton players with respect to speed and direction. Additionally, added to what is known in terms of the links between technique and shuttlecock speed.
